Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, often referred to as Ashanti, was born on the 13th of October of 1980, in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is an United States singer, songwriter and actor. Ashanti was first discovered when she was an teen and signing with Murder Inc. Records in 2002. That same year, she was in the Fat Joe's What's Luv? The singer also featured on the Fat Joe's hit song"What's Luv!" as well as the Ja Rules track Always on Time and Ja Rules track Always On Time, both of which were huge hits. When she released the single, What's Luv which ranked at the second spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at the top spot and Foolish as her first single, she was the only female to achieve this feat.
